HADITH 150:

 

أَلا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يُكَفِّرُ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ فِي الْمَكَارِهِ وَأعْمَالُ الأَقْدَامِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلاةِ يَغْسِلُ الْخَطَايَا غَسْلا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Shall I not tell you of that by which Allah expiates sins? Thorough ablution despite hardship, working your feet in walking to the Masjid and waiting in between prayers will fully cleanse one of sins.’

SUMMARY:        Waiting in the Masjid between congregational prayers expiates sins.


HADITH 149:

 

مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِثْلَهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever builds a Masjid for Allah (Ta’aala), Allah (Ta’aala) will build for him a house like it in Paradise.’

SUMMARY:        Whoever builds a Masjid is given Paradise.


HADITH 148:

 

تَطُوُّعُ الرَّجُلِ فِي بَيْتِهِ يَزِيدُ عَلَى تَطَوُّعِهِ عِنْدَ النَّاسِ كَفَضْلِ صَلَاةِ الْجَمَاعَةِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَحْدَهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The voluntary prayer of a man in his house is greater than his voluntary prayer in front of people, just as the congregational prayer is better than the prayer of a man alone.’

SUMMARY:        Voluntary prayers greater at home.


HADITH 147:

 

ثَلاثَةٌ فِي ضَمَانِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَى مَسْجِدٍ مِنْ مَسَاجِدِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَجُلٌ خَرَجَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَجُلٌ خَرَجَ حَاجًّا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Three people have a guarantee from Allah Almighty: a man who leaves his house to attend one of the Masjid of Allah Almighty, a man who goes out waging a campaign in the way of Allah Almighty (in defence), and a man who goes out for the Hajj pilgrimage.’

SUMMARY:        Three types of people whom are guaranteed Paradise from Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 146: 

 

مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ مُتَطَهِّرًا إِلَى صَلَاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ فَأَجْرُهُ كَأَجْرِ الْحَاجِّ الْمُحْرِمِ وَمَنْ خَرَجَ إِلَى تَسْبِيحِ الضُّحَى لَا يَنْصِبُهُ إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ فَأَجْرُهُ كَأَجْرِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever leaves his house with ritual purification for a prescribed prayer, his reward will be like one performing a Hajj pilgrimage in a state of sanctity. Whoever leaves to glorify Allah in the forenoon, labouring only for this purpose, his reward will be like one performing the Umrah pilgrimage.’

SUMMARY:        Going for prayer is like performing pilgrimage.


HADITH 145: 

 

الْمَسْجِدُ بَيْتُ كُلِّ تَقِيٍّ وَقَدْ ضَمِنَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِمَنْ كَانَت الْمَسْاجِدُ بَيْوتَهُم بالرَّوْحِ وَالرَّاحَةِ وَالْجَوَازِ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ إِلَى رِضْوَانِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The masjid is the home of every righteous person. Allah Almighty has guaranteed those who have their home in the Masaajid with the spirit, mercy and safe passage over the bridge of Hell unto the pleasure of Allah Almighty.’

SUMMARY:        Masaajid are the homes of every righteous person.


HADITH 144: 

 

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْكَرِيمِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِيمِ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said: (when entering the Masjid)

 

‘I seek refuge in Allah Almighty, in his noble countenance, and in his everlasting authority from the accursed Satan.’

SUMMARY:        Seek refuge from Satan when entering the Masjid.


HADITH 143: 

 

يَا عُقْبَةُ بْنَ عَامِرٍ صِلْ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ وَأَعْطِ مَنْ حَرَمَكَ وَاعْفُ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘O Uqbah, reconcile whoever cuts you off, give to whoever deprives you and pardon whoever wrongs you.’

SUMMARY:        Two wrongs never make a right!


HADITH 142: 

 

والذي نفسي بيده لو لم تذنبوا، لذهب الله تعالى بكم، ولجاء بقوم يذنبون فيستغفرون الله تعالى فيغفر لهم‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘By the One in Whose Hand my soul is! If you do not commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins and seek forgiveness from Allah; and Allah will certainly forgive them.’

SUMMARY:        Mankind is prone for sin and look at the utmost mercy of Allah Ta’aala announcing forgiveness! Never lose hope.


HADITH 141: 

 

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عُفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘O Allah, You are forgiving and generous. You love to forgive.’

 

Source(s):           Sunan-e-Tirmidhi

 

SUMMARY:        Surely one who asks for forgiveness is not deprived from the mercy of Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 140:

 

ارْحَمُوا تُرْحَمُوا وَاغْفِرُوا يَغْفِرْ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Be merciful to others and you will receive mercy. Forgive others and Allah will forgive you.’

SUMMARY:        A religion of mercy that promotes mercy and forgiveness.


HADITH 139:

 

نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلاَّ عِزًّا وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives except that Allah increases his honour, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.’

SUMMARY:        Your honour is raised when you seek forgiveness.


HADITH 138:

 

مَا تَعُدُّونَ الصُّرَعَةَ فِيكُمْ قُلْنَا الَّذِي لَا يَصْرَعُهُ الرِّجَالُ قَالَ لَيْسَ بِذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّهُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”Whom do you consider to be a fighter among you?” We said, “One whom men cannot wrestle down.” The Prophet said, “It is not so. Rather, it is one who controls himself when angry.”’

SUMMARY:        Real strength is one who can control his anger.


HADITH 137:

 

التَّسْبِيحُ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ يَمْلَؤُهُ وَالتَّكْبِيرُ يَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالصَّوْمُ نِصْفُ الصَّبْرِ وَالطُّهُورُ نِصْفُ الْإِيمَانِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Glorification of Allah is half of the scale, praise of Allah fills it, and exaltation of Allah fills what is between the heavens and the earth. Fasting is half of patience and purification is half of faith

SUMMARY:        Fasting half of patience & purification half of faith.


HADITH 136:

 

مَا أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ طَعَامًا قَطُّ خَيْرًا مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام كَانَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدِهِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘No meal eaten by one of you is better than the he eats from the work of his own hands. Verily, the Prophet of Allah, David (Dawood), Alay Hissalaam) would eat from the work of His own hands.’

SUMMARY:        Best to eat from work of one’s own hands.


HADITH 135:

 

الْكَافِرُ يَأْكُلُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ وَالْمُؤْمِنُ يَأْكُلُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The unbeliever eats with seven intestines, and the believer eats with one intestine.’

SUMMARY:        The disbeliever usually has no compelling philosophical reason to restrict his or her food intake and therefore they tend to eat seven times as much food as their body needs.


HADITH 134:

 

يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِي الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ عَشَاءً وَكَانَ أَكْثَرُ خُبْزِهِمْ خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘I would spend several nights in a row with an empty stomach and His family would not find anything for dinner. Most of their bread was made from barley.’

SUMMARY:        Be grateful to what little you may have; let it be a reminder of the hardships faced by our beloved prophet and his blessed family.


HADITH 133:

 

إِذَا كَانَ جُنْحُ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ أَمْسَيْتُمْ فَكُفُّوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ فَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ تَنْتَشِرُ حِينَئِذٍ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ سَاعَةٌ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَحُلُّوهُمْ فَأَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ بَابًا مُغْلَقًا وَأَوْكُوا قِرَبَكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ وَخَمِّرُوا آنِيَتَكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضُوا عَلَيْهَا شَيْئًا وَأَطْفِئُوا مَصَابِيحَكُمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When the night lowers its wings or you enter evening, hold back your children, for the devils spread out at that time. When a while has passed, you may let them go. Lock your doors and mention the name of Allah, for Satan cannot open a locked door. Tie your water-skins and mention the name of Allah, cover your vessels with whatever you have and mention the name of Allah, and put out your lamps.’

SUMMARY:        Devils come out to roam when darkness settles and cover your vessels.


HADITH 132:

 

أَدْنِ الْيَتِيمَ مِنْكَ وَامْسَحْ بِرَأْسِهِ وَأَطْعِمْهُ مِنْ طَعَامِكَ يَلِنْ قَلْبُكَ وَتَقْدِرْ عَلَى حَاجَتِكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Bring the orphan close to you, pat his head, and feed him with the same food you eat. It will soften your heart and fulfil your need.’

SUMMARY:        Be kind to orphans, share same food for a soft heart.


HADITH 131:

 

مَا مَلَأَ آدَمِيٌّ وِعَاءً شَرًّا مِنْ بَطْنٍ بِحَسْبِ ابْنِ آدَمَ أُكُلَاتٌ يُقِمْنَ صُلْبَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا مَحَالَةَ فَثُلُثٌ لِطَعَامِهِ وَثُلُثٌ لِشَرَابِهِ وَثُلُثٌ لِنَفَسِهِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The son of Adam cannot fill a vessel worse than his stomach, as it is enough for him to take a few bites to straighten his back. If he cannot do it, then he may fill it with a third of his food, a third of his drink, and a third of his breath.’

SUMMARY:        Filling the stomach a third for food; drink and air.


HADITH 130:

 

مَنْ احْتَكَرَ فَهُوَ خَاطِئٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever hoards food is a sinner.’

SUMMARY:        Whoever refuses to share food is a sinner.


HADITH 129:

 

سَيَكُونُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَأْكُلُونَ أَلْوَانَ الطَّعَامِ وَيَشْرَبُونَ أَلْوَانَ الشَّرَابِ وَيُلْبِسُونَ أَلْوَانَ اللِّبَاسِ وَيَتَشَدَّقُونَ فِي الْكَلَامِ فَأُولَئِكَ شِرَارُ أُمَّتِي

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘There will be men from my nation who eat a variety of foods, drink a variety of drinks, wear a variety of clothes, and are boastful in their speech. These are the worst of my nation.’

SUMMARY:        Worst Muslims are those who are extravagant in food, clothing and speech.


HADITH 128:

 

لَوْ أَنَّ ابْنَ آدَمَ هَرَبَ مِنْ رِزْقِهِ كَمَا يَهْرُبُ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ لَأَدْرَكَهُ رِزْقُهُ كَمَا يُدْرِكُهُ الْمَوْتُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Were the son of Adam to flee from his provision as he flees from death, his provision would surely reach him just as death will reach him.’

SUMMARY:        Be certain the provision of Allah Ta’aala will reach you.


HADITH 127:

 

كُفَّ عَنَّا جُشَاءَكَ فَإِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شِبَعًا فِي الدُّنْيَا أَطْوَلُهُمْ جُوعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Restrain your belching, for those who were most satiated in the world will be the most hungry on the Day of Resurrection.’

SUMMARY:        Those who over-eat are hungriest in the Hereafter.


HADITH 126: 

 

أَطْعِمُوا الْجَائِعَ، وَعُودُوا الْمَرِيضَ، وَفُكُّوا الْعَانِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Give food to the hungry, pay a visit to the sick and release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom).’

SUMMARY:        Three rewardable deeds.


HADITH 125:

 

مَنْ احْتَكَرَ فَهُوَ خَاطِئٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever hoards food is a sinner.’

SUMMARY:        Whoever refuses to share food is a sinner.


HADITH 124:

 

يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِي الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ عَشَاءً وَكَانَ أَكْثَرُ خُبْزِهِمْ خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘He () would spend several nights in a row with an empty stomach, and His family would not find anything for dinner. Most of Their bread was made from barley.’

SUMMARY:        The Prophet (ﷺ) spent many nights, hungry.


HADITH 123:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَالَ إِذَا ابْتَلَيْتُ عَبْدِي بِحَبِيبَتَيْهِ فَصَبَرَ عَوَّضْتُهُ مِنْهُمَا الْجَنَّةَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Allah said: If I afflict my servant in his two dear eyes and he remains patient, he will be compensated for them with Paradise.’

SUMMARY:        Patience with losing eyesight leads to Paradise.


HADITH 122:

 

يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مَا لِعَبْدِي الْمُؤْمِنِ عِنْدِي جَزَاءٌ إِذَا قَبَضْتُ صَفِيَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ احْتَسَبَهُ إِلَّا الْجَنَّةُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Allah Almighty says: I have nothing to give to my faithful servant but Paradise if I cause his dear friend to die and he remains patient.’

SUMMARY:        Patience over friend’s death leads to Paradise.


HADITH 121:

 

لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The strong are not the best wrestlers. Verily, the strong are only those who control themselves when they are angry.’

SUMMARY:        This beautiful Hadith also emphasises the importance of observing sabr/ patience at all times.


HADITH 120:

 

إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ إِنِّي إِذَا ابْتَلَيْتُ عَبْدًا مِنْ عِبَادِي مُؤْمِنًا فَحَمِدَنِي عَلَى مَا ابْتَلَيْتُهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَقُومُ مِنْ مَضْجَعِهِ ذَلِكَ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا وَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَا قَيَّدْتُ عَبْدِي وَابْتَلَيْتُهُ فَأَجْرُوا لَهُ كَمَا كُنْتُمْ تُجْرُونَ لَهُ وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, Allah Almighty says: “When I put one of My faithful servants to trial and he praises Me despite his trial, he will rise from his bed free of sin like the day he was born from his mother”. The Almighty Lord says: “I have confined My servant and put him to trial, so he will be rewarded the same as he used to do when he was healthy.”’

SUMMARY:        Reward of one who praises Allah Ta’aala during hardship.


HADITH 119:

 

الصَّبْرُ نِصْفُ الإِيمَانِ وَالْيَقِينُ الإِيمَانُ كُلُّهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Patience is half of faith and conviction is faith in its entirety.’

SUMMARY:        Patience is half of faith, certainty is all of it.


HADITH 118:

 

الصَّبْرُ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الأُولَى

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The real patience is at the first stroke of a calamity.’

 

Source(s):           Sahih al Bukhaari

 

SUMMARY:        No matter what, patience is to be observed at the first stroke of a calamity.


HADITH 117:

 

لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يعني من الأجر لَأَحْبَبْتُمْ أَنْ تَزْدَادُوا فَاقَةً وَحَاجَةً

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘If only you knew the rewards you had with Allah, you would like to be increased in poverty and need.’

SUMMARY:        If only you knew the reward for patience in poverty.


HADITH 116:

 

ثَلَاثٌ لَا يَجُوزُ اللَّعِبُ فِيهِنَّ الطَّلَاقُ وَالنِّكَاحُ وَالْعِتْقُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘It is not permissible to jest about three matters: divorce, marriage, and emancipation.’

SUMMARY:        Do not joke about divorce.


HADITH 115:

 

مَنْ رَزَقَهُ اللَّهُ امْرَأَةً صَالِحَةً فَقَدْ أَعَانَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى شَطْرِ دِينِهِ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ فِي الشَّطْرِ الثَّانِي

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever Allah provides with a righteous wife, Allah has assisted him in half of his religion. Let him fear Allah regarding the second half.’

SUMMARY:        Marriage is half of the religion.


HADITH 114:

 

 بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي الْخَيْرِ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When the Prophet () congratulated a couple for getting married, He would say, “May Allah grant you blessings, send blessings upon you, and bring you together in goodness.”’

SUMMARY:        The Prophet (ﷺ)’s supplication for a newly-wed couple.


HADITH 113:

 

 أُخْبِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلاَثَ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ جَمِيعًا فَقَامَ غَضْبَانًا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيُلْعَبُ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The Messenger of Allah, Ta’aala (), was informed about a man who pronounced divorce to his wife three times at once. The Prophet stood in anger and he said, “Do they play with the Book of Allah while I am among you?”’

SUMMARY:        Rasullullaah (ﷺ) is angered by triple talaq.


HADITH 112:

 

أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مَاتَتْ وَزَوْجُهَا عَنْهَا رَاضٍ دَخَلَتِ الْجَنَّةَ ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Any woman who dies when her husband is pleased with her, will enter Paradise.'

HADITH 111:

 

خِيَارُكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ لِنِسَائِهِمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The best of you are the best to their women.’

SUMMARY:        Best men treat women in best manner.


HADITH 110:

 

النِّكَاحُ مِنْ سُنَّتِي فَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِسُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَتَزَوَّجُوا فَإِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمْ الْأُمَمَ وَمَنْ كَانَ ذَا طَوْلٍ فَلْيَنْكِحْ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالصِّيَامِ فَإِنَّ الصَّوْمَ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Marriage is part of My Sunnah. Whoever does not act upon My Sunnah is not part of Me. Give each other in marriage, for I will boast of your great numbers before the nations. Whoever has the means, let him contract a marriage. Whoever does not have the means should fast, as fasting will restrain his impulses.’

HADITH 109:

 

لَا يَخْطُبُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ وَلَا يَسُومُ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ وَلَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا وَلَا تَسْأَلُ الْمَرْأَةُ طَلَاقَ أُخْتِهَا لِتَكْتَفِئَ صَحْفَتَهَا وَلْتَنْكِحْ فَإِنَّمَا لَهَا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهَا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘A man must not offer a marriage proposal to a woman if his brother has already done so, nor may he try to outbid the price of his brother. A woman must not be joined in marriage with her paternal aunt, nor her maternal aunt. A woman must not ask for her sister to be divorced to deprive her of what is rightfully hers. Rather, let her get married, for Allah she will only have what Allah has decreed for her.’

HADITH 108:

 

أَعْلِنُوا النِّكَاحَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Announce the marriage.’

HADITH 107:

 

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي جَارَيْنِ فَإِلَى أَيِّهِمَا أُهْدِي قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَقْرَبِهِمَا مِنْكِ بَابًا

 

Hazrat Aisha (Radhi Allah Anho) says, I asked the Blessed Prophet (ﷺ):

 

‘”O Messenger of Allah, I have two neighbours; to whom should I send my gifts?” The Prophet, (), said, “To the neighbour who is closest to your door.”’

HADITH 106:

 

أَوَّلُ خَصْمَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ جَارَانِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Among the first disputants on the Day of Resurrection will be two neighbours.’

SUMMARY:        Two neighbours first to dispute on Judgment Day.


HADITH 105:

 

يَا سَائِبُ انْظُرْ أَخْلَاقَكَ الَّتِي كُنْتَ تَصْنَعُهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَاجْعَلْهَا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَقْرِ الضَّيْفَ وَأَكْرِمْ الْيَتِيمَ وَأَحْسِنْ إِلَى جَارِكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘O Sa’ib, look at the character of your deeds in the time of ignorance and continue them in Islam: honour the guest, be generous to the orphan, and be good to your neighbour.’

HADITH 104:

 

يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِذَا طَبَخْتَ مَرَقَةً فَأَكْثِرْ مَاءَ الْمَرَقَةِ وَتَعَاهَدْ جِيرَانَكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘O Abu Dharr, when you cook a stew, put more water in the broth and take care your neighbours.’

SUMMARY:        Sharing food with your neighbours.


HADITH 103:

 

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ جَارَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak goodness or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honour his neighbour. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honour his guest.’

HADITH 102:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُنَادِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَيْنَ جِيرَانِي أَيْنَ جِيرَانِي قَالَ فَتَقُولُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رَبَّنَا وَمَنْ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُجَاوِرَكَ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ عُمَّارُ الْمَسَاجِدِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Allah will announce on the Day of Resurrection: “Where are My neighbours? Where are My neighbours?” The angels will say: “Our Lord, who is befitting to be Your neighbour?” Allah will say: “Where are those who filled the Masaajid?”’

SUMMARY:        Those that fill up the Masaajid will be the neighbours of Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 101:

 

مَا هُوَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْمَنْ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘He is not a believer whose neighbour is not safe from his harm.’

SUMMARY:        One is not a true believe if he harms his neighbours.


HADITH 100:

 

لَيْسَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي يَبِيتُ شَبْعَانَ وَجَارُهُ جَائِعٌ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘He is not a believer who spends the night satiated while the neighbour to his side is hungry.’

SUMMARY:        Believers never abandon hungry neighbours.


HADITH 99:

 

مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Jibra’il did not stop advising Me to treat neighbours well until I thought he would make them My heirs.’

SUMMARY:        Hazrat Jibra’il (Alay Hissalaam) emphasises good behaviour to neighbours.


HADITH 98:

 

خُذُوا جُنَّتَكُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمِنْ عَدُوٍّ قَدْ حَضَرَ قَالَ لا وَلَكِنْ جُنَّتُكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ قَوْلُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَإِنَّهُنَّ يَأْتِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُجَنِّبَاتٍ وَمُعَقِّبَاتٍ وَهُنَّ الْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”Take up your shields”. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, is the enemy present?” The Prophet () said, “No, rather your shields from the Hellfire are to declare the glory of Allah, the praise of Allah, there is no God but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. Verily, they will come on the Day of Resurrection as saviours and guardian angels, and they are ‘righteous deeds everlasting.”’

SUMMARY:        Your shield from Hell fire is remembrance of Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 97:

 

إِذَا عَمِلْتَ سَيِّئَةً فَأَتْبِعْهَا حَسَنَةً تَمْحُهَا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمِنْ الْحَسَنَاتِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ هِيَ أَفْضَلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”If you do a bad deed, follow it with a good deed to wipe it out.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, is it a good deed to declare there is no God but Allah?” The Prophet said, “It is among the best of good deeds.”’

HADITH 96:

 

من مَاتَ وَهْوَ يَدْعُو مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ نِدًّا دَخَلَ النَّارَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever dies while calling upon a partner besides Allah will enter Hellfire.’

SUMMARY:        Nothing explains Tauheed better than Surah Ikhlaas.


HADITH 95:

 

اِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالُوا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْسُبْ لَنَا رَبَّكَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The idolaters asked the Messenger of Allah, Rasullullaah SallAllahu Alayhi Wassalaam), “Tell us the lineage of your Lord.” Then, Allah revealed the verse, “Say: He is Allah, the One, Allah the Eternal Refuge.”’ (112:1-2)

SUMMARY:        Idolaters asking for the lineage of Allah Almighty.


HADITH 94:

 

يَقْبِضُ اللَّهُ الأَرْضَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَيَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ بِيَمِينِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا الْمَلِكُ أَيْنَ مُلُوكُ الأَرْضِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘On the Day of Resurrection Allah will hold the whole earth and fold the heaven with His right hand and say, “I am the King: where are the kings of the earth?”’

SUMMARY:        He alone is the Absolute! Anyone else, here today, forgotten tomorrow.


HADITH 93:

 

مَنْ أَصَابَهُ هَمٌّ أَوْ غَمٌّ أَوْ سَقَمٌ أَوْ شِدَّةٌ فَقَالَ اللهُ رَبِّي لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ كَشَفَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever is afflicted by anxiety, grief, illness, or hardship and he says, “Allah is my Lord without partner”, it will be removed from him.’

SUMMARY:        Supplication for worry, sadness, sickness, and difficulty.


HADITH 92:

 

يَا مُعَاذُ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”O Mu’adh, do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants?” I said, “Allah and His messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “To worship Him alone and to associate none in worship with Him. And do you know what is their right upon Him?” I said, “Allah and His messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Not to punish them if they do so.”’

SUMMARY:        Rights of Allah Ta’aala upon His servants.


HADITH 91:

 

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ مَنْ قَالَهُنَّ فِي يَوْمٍ أَوْ لَيْلَةٍ أَوْ فِي شَهْرٍ ثُمَّ مَاتَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ أَوْ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ أَوْ فِي ذَلِكَ الشَّهْرِ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘There is no God but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. There is no God but Allah without any partner, there is no God but Allah. To Him belong dominion and praise, there is no God but Allah. There is no power or might but in Allah. Whoever says these words in a day or a night or a month, then he dies in that day or night or month, his sins will be forgiven.’

SUMMARY:        Sins forgiven for declaring oneness of Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 90:

 

إِنَّ السِّقْطَ لَيُرَاغِمُ رَبَّهُ إِذَا أَدْخَلَ أَبَوَيْهِ النَّارَ ‏.‏ فَيُقَالُ أَيُّهَا السِّقْطُ الْمُرَاغِمُ رَبَّهُ أَدْخِلْ أَبَوَيْكَ الْجَنَّةَ ‏.‏ فَيَجُرُّهُمَا بِسَرَرِهِ حَتَّى يُدْخِلَهُمَا الْجَنَّةَ ‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The miscarried fetus will plead with his Lord if his parents are admitted to Hell. It will be said: ‘O fetus who pleads with your Lord! Admit your parents to Paradise.’ So he will drag them out with his umbilical cord until he admits them to Paradise.’

SUMMARY:        To observe patience at all times and to realise that Allah Ta’aala is the best of planners and he will reward you something better!


HADITH 89:

 

‏‏‏ثَلاَثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ نَشَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ كَنَفَهُ وَأَدْخَلَهُ جَنَّتَهُ رِفْقٌ بِالضَّعِيفِ وَشَفَقَةٌ عَلَى الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَإِحْسَانٌ إِلَى الْمَمْلُوكِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘There are three (characteristics) for which whomever has them, Allah will show His side and admit him to Paradise: Being courteous to the guest, kind to parents and doing good for slaves.’

SUMMARY:        If you want to see Allah Ta’aala, then observe the above three traits at all times.


HADITH 88:

 

‏‏‏ثَلاَثَةٌ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْعَاقُّ لِوَالِدَيْهِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ الْمُتَرَجِّلَةُ وَالدَّيُّوثُ وَثَلاَثَةٌ لاَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ الْعَاقُّ لِوَالِدَيْهِ وَالْمُدْمِنُ عَلَى الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَنَّانُ بِمَا أَعْطَى

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘There are three at whom Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection: The one who disobeys his parents, the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance, and the cuckold. And there are three who will not enter Paradise: The one who disobeys his parents, the drunkard, and the one who reminds people of what he has given them.’

SUMMARY:        This is very straightforward and self-explanatory.


HADITH 87:

 

أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ- قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏ الإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ‏‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins?” They said, “Yes, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, “To join partners in worship with Allah and to be undutiful to one's parents.”’

SUMMARY:        Islam emphasises profusely the importance of treating our parents well at all times.


HADITH 86:

 

بُكَاءُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ مِنَ الْعُقُوقِ وَالْكَبَائِرِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Making parents weep is part of disobedience and one of the major wrong actions.’ [Major sin]

SUMMARY:        How many of us are guilty of the above? May Allah Ta’aala forgive us. Make parents happy; making them weep is one of the major sins (in total there are 70).


HADITH 85:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيَرْفَعُ الدَّرَجَةَ لِلْعَبْدِ الصَّالِحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ أَنَّى لِي هَذِهِ فَيَقُولُ بِاسْتِغْفَارِ وَلَدِكَ لَكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, Allah Almighty will raise the status of his righteous servants in Paradise and they will say: O Lord, what is this? Allah will say: This is due to your child seeking forgiveness for you.’

SUMMARY:        This refers to the aqaaid of the Ahl-e-Sunnah about Isaal-e-Thawaab; praying, du’aa, making supplications for your deceased parents surely. Allah Ta’aala forgives their sins and raises their status in the Aakhirah.


HADITH 84:

 

أَفْضَلُ الأَعْمَال- أَوِ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The best of the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents.’

SUMMARY:        The order of the Hadith says it all! The most important act of worship to be ordained is Salaah followed by showing kindness to parents.


HADITH 83:

 

رِضَا الرَّبِّ فِي رِضَا الْوَالِدِ وَسَخَطُ الرَّبِّ فِي سَخَطِ الْوَالِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The Lord's pleasure is in the parent's pleasure, and the Lord's anger is in the parent's anger.’

SUMMARY:        Simply put, to gain Allah Ta’aala’s pleasure, please your fathers.


HADITH 82:

 

مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ أَوْ يُنْسَأَ لَهُ فِي أَثَرِهِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever is pleased to have his provision expanded and his life span extended, then he should keep good relations with his family.’

SUMMARY:        Life span extended is meant metaphorically, i.e. your life is blessed with very little or no worries.


HADITH 81:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ عُقُوقَ الْأُمَّهَاتِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, Allah has forbidden you from neglecting your duty to your mothers.’

SUMMARY:        It should be clear to us now how important it is to obey our parents and treat them well. Conversely, disobedience to parents is among the worst major sins in Islam.


HADITH 80:

 

يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ مِنَ النَّارِ بِشَفَاعَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَيَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ، يُسَمَّوْنَ الْجَهَنَّمِيِّينَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Some people will be taken out of the Fire through the intercession of Muhammad they will enter Paradise and will be called Al-Jahannamiyin (the Hell Fire people).

SUMMARY:        May we be among those to gain the Shafa’a of Rasullullaah (ﷺ). What will happen to those who do not believe in the intercession? May Allah Ta’aala guide us all.


HADITH 79:

 

الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَأَبْرِدُوهَا عَنْكُمْ بِالْمَاءِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Fever is from the heat of the (Hell) Fire; so cool it with water.’

SUMMARY:        May Allah Ta’aala save us from such illnesses, diseases and calamities.


HADITH 78:

 

إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ لاَ مَوْتَ، وَيَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لاَ مَوْتَ، خُلُودٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The people of Paradise will enter Paradise, and the people of the (Hell) Fire will enter the (Hell) Fire: then a call-maker will get up (and make an announcement) among them, “O the people of the (Hell) Fire! No death anymore ! And O people of Paradise! No death (anymore) but Eternity”.’

SUMMARY:        Once in hell, in hell forever as they’ll be no escape; no death - however, this is only for the disbelievers. Weak Muslims after paying for their shortcomings will eventually come to heaven.


HADITH 77: 

 

إِذَا خَلَصَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنْ النَّارِ حُبِسُوا بِقَنْطَرَةٍ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيَتَقَاصُّونَ مَظَالِمَ كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى إِذَا نُقُّوا وَهُذِّبُوا أُذِنَ لَهُمْ بِدُخُولِ الْجَنَّةِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَأَحَدُهُمْ بِمَسْكَنِهِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَدَلُّ بِمَنْزِلِهِ كَانَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When the believers are saved from Hellfire, they will be held at a bridge between Paradise and Hell. They will request each other for wrongs done in the world, until they are purified and absolved and they will be called to enter Paradise. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, () one of you will recognise his place in Paradise better than he did his home in the world.’

HADITH 76:

 

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلاَمَ بِأَحَبِّ هَذَيْنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ إِلَيْكَ بِأَبِي جَهْلٍ أَوْ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ

قَالَ وَكَانَ أَحَبَّهُمَا إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”O Allah! Honor Islam through the most dear of these two men to you: Through Abu Jahl or through 'Umar bin Al-Khattab.” He said: "And the most dear of them to Him was Umar”’.

SUMMARY:        What a lofty status that from among the two Allah Ta’aala chose Hazrat Umar (Radhi Allah Anho).

 

The Prophet Rasullullaah (ﷺ) also said:

 

اول من يصافحه الحق عمرو اول من تسليم عليه و اول من ياخذ بيده فيدخله الجنة.

 

‘(After the blessed Prophet), the first person Allah Ta’aala will shake hands with, convey His salaams to and hold by the hand and take Him to Jannah will be Hazrat Umar (Radhi Allah Anho).’

HADITH 75:

 

عُذِّبَتْ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرَّةٍ سَجَنَتْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ فَدَخَلَتْ فِيهَا النَّارَ لَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلَا سَقَتْهَا إِذْ حَبَسَتْهَا وَلَا هِيَ تَرَكَتْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘A woman was punished due to a cat she had imprisoned until it died, so she entered the Hellfire. She did not give it food or water while it was imprisoned, neither did she set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.’

HADITH 74:

 

لَمَّا قَضَى اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ، كَتَبَ فِي كِتَابِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، فَهُوَ مَوْضُوعٌ عِنْدَهُ: إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When Allah decreed the creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over My wrath.’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala is indeed very Merciful; O Allah save us from Your wrath and make our eternal abode Jannah in the neighbourhood of Rasullullaah (ﷺ).


HADITH 73:

 

إِنَّ أَهْوَنَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَرَجُلٌ تُوضَعُ فِي أَخْمَصِ قَدَمَيْهِ جَمْرَتَانِ يَغْلِي مِنْهُمَا دِمَاغُهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, the most lightly punished of the people of Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection is a man under whose feet are placed on two hot coals by which his brain boils.’

SUMMARY:        The least punished man in Hell.


HADITH 72:

 

صَلَّتِ الْمَرْأَةُ خُمُسَهَا وَصَامَتْ شَهْرَهَا وَحَصَّنَتْ فَرْجَهَا وَأَطَاعَتْ بَعْلَهَا دَخَلَتْ مِنْ أَيِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ شَاءَتْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘If a woman prays her five prayers, fasts her month of Ramadhan, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise from any gate she wishes.’

SUMMARY:        A dutiful wife enters Paradise by any gate.


HADITH 71:

 

أَفْضَلُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ وَفَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ وَآسِيَةُ بِنْتُ مُزَاحِمٍ امْرَأَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The best of women among the people of Paradise are Khadija bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, Maryam bint ‘Imran, and ‘Asiyah bint Muzahim, the wife of Pharaoh.’

HADITH 70:

 

سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَحَدًا عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”Follow the right course, seek nearness to Allah, and give glad tidings. Verily, none of you will enter Paradise by his deeds alone.” They said, “Not even You, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Not even Me, unless Allah grants Me His mercy. Know that the most beloved deed to Allah is that which is done regularly, even if it is small.”’

SUMMARY:        None enters Paradise but by Allah Ta’aala’s mercy. Don’t boast over your good deeds; they could all be rejected; keep begging for Allah Ta’aala’s mercy.


HADITH 69:

 

عَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ فَإِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَمَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَصْدُقُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الصِّدْقَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ صِدِّيقًا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ فَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَمَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَكْذِبُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَذَّابًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘You must be truthful. Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and encourages honesty until he is recorded with Allah as truthful. And beware of falsehood. Verily, falsehood leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to the Hellfire. A man continues tell lies and encourages falsehood until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.’

HADITH 68:

 

الْجَنَّةُ مِائَةُ دَرَجَةٍ مَا بَيْنَ كُلِّ دَرَجَتَيْنِ مِنْهُمَا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْفِرْدَوْسُ أَعْلَاهَا دَرَجَةً مِنْهَا تُفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ الْأَرْبَعَةُ وَمِنْ فَوْقِهَا يَكُونُ الْعَرْشُ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمْ اللَّهَ فَاسْأَلُوهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Paradise has one hundred levels and between each two levels is a distance like that between the heavens and earth. Al-Firdaws is its highest level, from which four rivers of Paradise flow and above which is the Throne. When you ask from Allah, ask for al-Firdaws.’

HADITH 67:

 

لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ الْجَوَّاظُ وَلَا الْجَعْظَرِيُّ قَالَ وَالْجَوَّاظُ الْغَلِيظُ الْفَظُّ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘He will not enter Paradise who is cruel and hard-hearted.’ Harithah (Radhi Allah Anho) said, ‘Cruel means harsh and rude.’

SUMMARY:        Harsh, cruel people do not enter Paradise.


HADITH 66:

 

مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يَنْعَمُ لَا يَبْأَسُ لَا تَبْلَى ثِيَابُهُ وَلَا يَفْنَى شَبَابُهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever enters Paradise will enjoy bliss without misery, clothes without wear, and youth without ageing.’

SUMMARY:        Whoever enters Paradise enjoys eternal.


HADITH 65:

 

خَمْسٌ مَنْ جَاءَ بِهِنَّ مَعَ إِيمَانٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ عَلَى وُضُوئِهِنَّ وَرُكُوعِهِنَّ وَسُجُودِهِنَّ وَمَوَاقِيتِهِنَّ وَصَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَحَجَّ الْبَيْتَ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَأَعْطَى الزَّكَاةَ طَيِّبَةً بِهَا نَفْسُهُ وَأَدَّى الْأَمَانَةَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whatever comes with five deeds, along with faith, will enter Paradise: one who preserves the five prayers, their ablution, their bowings, their prostrations, and their timings, one who fasts the month of Ramadhan, one who performs Hajj pilgrimage to the House if he can find a way, one who gives charity with a cheerful soul, and one who fulfils the trust.’

HADITH 64:

 

أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُدْعَى إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ الْحَمَّادُونَ الَّذِينَ يَحْمَدُونَ اللهَ عَلَى السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The first to be called to Paradise are the ones constantly praising, those who praised Allah in prosperity and in adversity.’

SUMMARY:        First to enter Paradise will be those who praise Allah Ta’aala at all times, good and bad.


HADITH 63:

 

مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever is pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad () as a prophet, he must enter Paradise.’

SUMMARY:        Hadith on contentment: Whoever is satisfied with Islam surely enters Paradise.


HADITH 62:

 

مَنْ كَانَ لَيِّنًا هَيِّنًا سَهْلًا حَرَّمَهُ اللهُ عَلَى النَّارِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever is kind, affable (friendly, good natured), and easy-going, Allah will forbid him from entering Hellfire.’

SUMMARY:        Gentle and easy-going people will be the dwellers of Jannah.


HADITH 61:

 

مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ فِيهِنَّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ قِيلَ وَلا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘No good deeds can be done at a time better than these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. It was asked, “Not even Jihad in the way of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Not even Jihad in the way of Allah.”’

HADITH 60:

 

الْيَوْمُ الْمَوْعُودُ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالْيَوْمُ الْمَشْهُودُ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ وَالشَّاهِدُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَمَا طَلَعَتْ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا غَرَبَتْ عَلَى يَوْمٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ فِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مُؤْمِنٌ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ بِخَيْرٍ إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَلَا يَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَعَاذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the day of Arafat, and the witnessing day is Friday (85:2-3). The sun does not rise or set over a day better than it. In it is a moment in which a believing servant does not supplicate to Allah for good but that Allah will answer him, and he does not seek refuge from any evil thing but that Allah will grant him refuge.’

HADITH 60:

 

الْيَوْمُ الْمَوْعُودُ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالْيَوْمُ الْمَشْهُودُ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ وَالشَّاهِدُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَمَا طَلَعَتْ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا غَرَبَتْ عَلَى يَوْمٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ فِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مُؤْمِنٌ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ بِخَيْرٍ إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَلَا يَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَعَاذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

HADITH 59:

 

لَا يَكِيدُ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا انْمَاعَ كَمَا يَنْمَاعُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘None plot against the people of Madinah but that they will melt away, just as salt is melted by water.’

SUMMARY:        Disagree with the government of Saudi, but, never use a loose words against the Madyans let alone plotting against them.


HADITH 58:

 

مِنْ زَمْزَمَ فَشَرِبَهُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘To drink water from the Zamzam well whilst standing up is permissible.’

SUMMARY:        Permission to drink Zamzam standing up.


HADITH 57:

 

إِذَا دَخَلَتْ الْعَشْرُ وَأَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ شَعَرِهِ وَبَشَرِهِ شَيْئًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘If the ten days of Dhul Hijjah begin and one of you intends to sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or skin’.

SUMMARY:        Those offering sacrifices do not cut hair or nails.


HADITH 56:

 

الْعُمْرَةُ إِلَى الْعُمْرَةِ كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَالْحَجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ لَيْسَ لَهُ جَزَاءٌ إِلَّا الْجَنَّةُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The Umrah pilgrimage to the following Umrah will expiate whatever sins were committed between them, and the blessed Hajj pilgrimage has no reward other than Paradise.’

HADITH 55:

 

شَهِدْتُ الْفِطْرَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ يُصَلُّونَهَا قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ ثُمَّ يُخْطَبُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘I witnessed (a Sahsabi) the prayer on the day of Eid al Adhaa with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon Him, and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, may Allah be pleased with Them. They performed the prayer before the sermon, then would deliver the sermon.

SUMMARY:        The Prophet prays Eid, then gives sermon and to listen to it is Waajib.


HADITH 54:

 

مَنْ حَجَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ فَلَمْ يَرْفُثْ وَلَمْ يَفْسُقْ رَجَعَ كَمَا وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever performs the Hajj pilgrimage to this house, without having intimate relations or committing sin, he will return pure of sin like the day he was born from his mother.’

SUMMARY:        Successful Hajj completely purifies from sin - May Allah Ta’aala take us all.


HADITH 53:

 

خَيْرُ مَاءٍ عَلَى وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ مَاءُ زَمْزَمَ فِيهِ طَعَامٌ مِنَ الطُّعْمِ وَشِفَاءٌ مِنَ السُّقْمِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The best water on the face of the earth is Zamzam water. In it is food for nourishment and healing for illness.’

SUMMARY:        Best water in the world is Zamzam.


HADITH 52:

 

نَزَلَ الْحَجَرُ الْأَسْوَدُ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ وَهُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنْ اللَّبَنِ فَسَوَّدَتْهُ خَطَايَا بَنِي آدَمَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The black stone descended from Paradise and it was whiter than milk, but it became black due to the sins of the children of Adam.’

SUMMARY:        Stone turned black from sins of humankind.


HADITH 51:

 

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْحَاجِّ وَلِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ الْحَاجُّ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘O Allah, forgive the pilgrims and those for whom the pilgrims seek forgiveness.’

SUMMARY:        Forgive pilgrims and those they supplicate for.


HADITH 50:

 

مَا أَطْيَبَكِ وَأَطْيَبَ رِيحَكِ مَا أَعْظَمَكِ وَأَعْظَمَ حُرْمَتَكِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَحُرْمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ حُرْمَةً مِنْكِ مَالِهِ وَدَمِهِ وَأَنْ نَظُنَّ بِهِ إِلَّا خَيْرًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘How pure you are and how pure is your fragrance! How great you are and how great is your sanctity! By the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (ﷺ), the sanctity of the believer is greater to Allah than your sanctity, in his wealth, his life, and to assume nothing of him but good.’

SUMMARY:        The Lives of believers are more sacred than the Ka’abah.


HADITH 49:

 

شَهِدْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَضْحَى بِالْمُصَلَّى فَلَمَّا قَضَى خُطْبَتَهُ نَزَلَ عَنْ مِنْبَرِهِ فَأُتِيَ بِكَبْشٍ فَذَبَحَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ هَذَا عَنِّي وَعَمَّنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Jabir ibn Abdullah (Radhi Allah Anho) reported: “I was present with the Prophet, () on Eid al-Adha at the place of prayer. When the Prophet () finished His sermon, He came down from His pulpit and a ram was brought to Him. The Prophet slaughtered it with His own hand, saying, “In the name of Allah and Allah is the greatest. This is from Me and those of My nation who cannot offer a sacrifice.”’

SUMMARY:        The Prophet sacrifices an animal on Eid al-Adha on behalf of His Ummah. Look at the love for His Ummah; the prophet remembers His Ummah on all occasions, yet, we have many shortcomings!


HADITH 48:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُبَاهِي مَلَائِكَتَهُ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ بِأَهْلِ عَرَفَةَ فَيَقُولُ انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي أَتَوْنِي شُعْثًا غُبْرًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, Allah Almighty boasts to his angels of the pilgrims on the afternoon of the day of Arafat, saying: Look at my servants, coming to me dishevelled and dusty.’

HADITH 47:

 

مَنْ طَافَ أُسْبُوعًا يُحْصِيهِ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَانَ لَهُ كَعِدْلِ رَقَبَةٍ مَا رَفَعَ رَجُلٌ قَدَمًا وَلَا وَضَعَهَا إِلَّا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ عَشْرُ سَيِّئَاتٍ وَرُفِعَ لَهُ عَشْرُ دَرَجَاتٍ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever circles the Ka’bah seven times and prays two cycles will be rewarded as if he has freed a slave. A man does not raise his foot and bring it back down but that ten good deeds will be written for him, ten bad deeds will be erased, and he will be raised by ten degrees.’

HADITH 46:

 

خَمْسٌ مَنْ جَاءَ بِهِنَّ مَعَ إِيمَانٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ عَلَى وُضُوئِهِنَّ وَرُكُوعِهِنَّ وَسُجُودِهِنَّ وَمَوَاقِيتِهِنَّ وَصَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَحَجَّ الْبَيْتَ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَأَعْطَى الزَّكَاةَ طَيِّبَةً بِهَا نَفْسُهُ وَأَدَّى الْأَمَانَةَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever comes with five deeds, along with faith, will enter Paradise: one who preserves the five prayers, their ablution, their bowings, their prostrations, and their timing;  one who fasts the month of Ramadhan; one who performs Hajj pilgrimage to the House if he can find a way; one who gives charity with a cheerful soul; and one who fulfils the trust.’

HADITH 45:

 

إِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ حَجَّةٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, the Umrah pilgrimage during Ramadhan is equal to Hajj.’

HADITH 44:

 

الْحُجَّاجُ وَالْعُمَّارُ وَفْدُ اللَّهِ دَعَاهُمْ فَأَجَابُوهُ وَسَأَلُوهُ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The pilgrims of Hajj and Umrah are the guests of Allah. He called them and they answered Him. They ask from Him and he gives them.’

SUMMARY:        Pilgrims are special guests of Allah Ta’aala - what a great privilege.


HADITH 43:

 

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘”O Messenger, of Allah, whose Islam is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon Him, said, “One from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe.”’

SUMMARY:        Best Muslims do not harm people with words and bad deed.


HADITH 42:

 

فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَوَقَعَ فِيهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَخَلَّلْ قَالَ وَمَا أَتَخَلَّلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَلْتُ لَحْمًا قَالَ إِنَّكَ أَكَلْتَ لَحْمَ أَخِيكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When a man stood to leave, then another man spoke badly about him after he left. The Prophet said, “Pick your teeth.” The man said, “O Messenger of Allah, why should I pick my teeth when I have not eaten meat?” The Prophet said, “You have eaten the flesh of your brother.”’

SUMMARY:        Backbiting is equivalent to having eaten the flesh of your brother.


HADITH 41:

 

تَسُبُّوا الدِّيكَ فَإِنَّهُ يُوقِظُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Do not disparage the rooster, as it wakes you up for prayer.’

SUMMARY:        Do not curse roosters, they wake you for prayer.


HADITH 40:

 

كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا يَكُونَ لَهُ الِاسْمَانِ وَالثَّلَاثَةُ فَيُدْعَى بِبَعْضِهَا فَعَسَى أَنْ يَكْرَهَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘A man used to have two or three names by which he was called. Perhaps he hated one of them, so Allah revealed the verse, “Do not insult each other with offensive nicknames.”’

HADITH 39:

 

إِنَّ مِنْ أَرْبَى الرِّبَا الِاسْتِطَالَةَ فِي عِرْضِ الْمُسْلِمِ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, the worst act of usury is to attack the reputation of a Muslim without a just cause.’

SUMMARY:        Worst act of usury to backbite, slander a believer.


HADITH 38:

 

لا يحب الله إضاعة المال وكثرة السؤال ولاَ قيل ولاَ قال

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Allah does not like for you to waste wealth, nor ask many unnecessary questions, nor spread gossip.’

SUMMARY:        Again from among sins contributed to the vast majority of the Muslims, wasting, asking unnecessary questions and gossip.


HADITH 37:

 

إِنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ ذَا الْوَجْهَيْنِ الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ وَهَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, among the worst of people is one with two faces, he who comes with one face to these and another to those.’

SUMMARY:        Worst people are hypocrites with two faces.


HADITH 36:

 

مِنْ عَلَامَاتِ الْمُنَافِقِ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مُسْلِمٌ إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Among the signs of a hypocrite are three, even if he fasts and prays and claims to be a Muslim: when he speaks he lies, when he gives a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays.’

HADITH 35:

 

سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Disparaging a Muslim is an act of wickedness, and fighting him is an act of unbelief.’

HADITH 34:

 

رَأَيْتُ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلَيْنِ أَتَيَانِي قَالَا الَّذِي رَأَيْتَهُ يُشَقُّ شِدْقُهُ فَكَذَّابٌ يَكْذِبُ بِالْكَذْبَةِ تُحْمَلُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ الْآفَاقَ فَيُصْنَعُ بِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘I saw a dream at night in which two men came to Me. They said, “The one whose face You saw being torn away was a great liar, who would tell a lie and it would be carried until it reaches the horizons. This will be done to him until the Day of Resurrection.”’

HADITH 33:

 

إِذَا أَصْبَحَ إِبْلِيسُ بَثَّ جُنُودَهُ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ أَضَلَّ الْيَوْمَ مُسْلِمًا أَلْبَسْتُهُ التَّاجَ قَالَ فَيَخْرُجُ هَذَا فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَيَقُولُ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ وَيَجِيءُ هَذَا فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى عَقَّ وَالِدَيْهِ فَيَقُولُ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَبَرَّ وَيَجِيءُ هَذَا فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى أَشْرَكَ فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ وَيَجِيءُ فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى زَنَى فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ وَيَجِيءُ هَذَا فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى قَتَلَ فَيَقُولُ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ وَيُلْبِسُهُ التَّاجَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When Satan (Iblis) awakens in the morning, he dispatches his troops, saying: “Whoever misguides a Muslim today, I will dress him with a crown.” This one will go out and say: “I did not leave him alone until he divorced his wife.” Satan will say: “A Muslim is about to get married.” This one will come and say: “I did not leave him alone until he disrespected his parents.” Satan will say: “A Muslim is about to be good to his parents.” This one will come and say: “I did not leave him alone until he committed idolatry.” Satan will say: “You, you!” Another will come and say: “I did not leave him alone until he committed adultery”. Satan will say: “You, you!” This one will come and say: “I did not leave him alone until he killed someone.” Satan will say: “You, you!” Then he will dress him with a crown.’

HADITH 32:

 

إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَذْكُرَ عُيُوبَ صَاحِبِكَ فَاذْكُرْ عُيُوبَ نَفْسِكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘If you intend to mention the faults of your companions, then remember your own faults.’

SUMMARY:        Remember your own faults before other peoples’.


HADITH 31:

 

يَا ابْنَ ادَمَ ، إِنَّكَ مَا دَعَوْتََنِي وَرَجَوْتَنِي ، غَفَرْتُ لَكَ عَلَى مَا كَانَ مِنْكَ وَلَا أُبالِي . يا ابْنَ ادَمَ :لَوْ بَلَغَتْ ذُنُوبُكَ عَنانَ السَّماءِ ثُم َّ اسْتَغْفَرْتَني ، غَفَرْتُ لَكَ . يَا ابْنَ ادَمَ : إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَتَيْتَنِي بِقُرَابِ الأَرْضِ خَطَايا ثُمَّ لَقِيتَني لَا تُشْرِكُ بِي شَيْأً ، لَأَتيْتُكَ بِقُرَابِها مَغْفِرَةً

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Allah the Almighty said: “O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it.”’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala is so forgiving; almost any excuse to forgive His creation!


HADITH 30:

 

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَجْلِسْ عَلَى مَائِدَةٍ يُدَارُ عَلَيْهَا بِالْخَمْرِ‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever has faith in Allah and the Last Day, let him not sit at a table over which wine is being served.’

SUMMARY:        Let him not sit at a table where wine is drank.


HADITH 29:

 

التَّائِبُ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ كَمَنْ لاَ ذَنْبَ لَهُ ‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin.’ (Minor)

SUMMARY:        We are all prone to sin, but, we should continuously seek forgiveness from the All-Forgiving.


HADITH 28:

 

إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا أَذْنَبَ كَانَتْ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فِي قَلْبِهِ فَإِنْ تَابَ وَنَزَعَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ صُقِلَ قَلْبُهُ فَإِنْ زَادَ زَادَتْ فَذَلِكَ الرَّانُ الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ ‏(كَلاَّ بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ)

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When the believer commits sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and gives up that sin and seeks forgiveness, his heart will be polished. But if (the sin) increases, (the black spot) increases.’ That is the Verse that Allah mentions in His Book: “Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (evil) (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.” [83:14]

SUMMARY:        A time comes when the entire heart is blackened with the sins committed and of showing no remorse or of lack of seeking forgiveness.


HADITH 27:

 

اجْتَنِبُوا السَّبْعَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُنَّ قَالَ الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ وَالسِّحْرُ وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْلُ الرِّبَا وَأَكْلُ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ وَالتَّوَلِّي يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ وَقَذْفُ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Stay away from seven mortal sins.’ They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what are they?’ The Prophet said, ‘Idolatry with Allah, occult magic, killing a soul that Allah has sanctified except for a just cause, consuming usury, usurping the property of an orphan, fleeing the battlefield and accusing chaste but unwary believing women.’

HADITH 26:

 

شَفَاعَتِي لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘My intercession is for the people of major sins among My nation.’

SUMMARY:        The Prophet intercedes (Shafa’a) for sinners of the Ummah - but, what will happen to those who don’t believe in the intercession process?


HADITH 25:

 

أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ ثَلَاثًا قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَجَلَسَ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا فَقَالَ أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ قَالَ فَمَا زَالَ يُكَرِّرُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Shall I not tell you about the worst of major sins? They are three.’ They said, ‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah.’ The Prophet said, ‘They are to associate partners with Allah and to be disobedient to parents.’ The Prophet was reclining and he sat up, saying, ‘And surely to speak falsely.’ The Prophet continued to repeat it until we wished He had stopped.’

HADITH 24:

 

مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَلَمْ يَأْتِهَا ثُمَّ سَمِعَهُ فَلَمْ يَأْتِهَا ثُمَّ سَمِعَهُ فَلَمْ يَأْتِهَا طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ وَجَعَلَ قَلْبَهُ قَلْبَ مُنَافِقٍ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Whoever hears the announcement of Friday prayer and he does not come, then he hears it again and does not come, then he hears it again and does not come, Allah will place a seal over his heart and turn his heart into the heart of a hypocrite.’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala seals hearts of those who neglect Friday prayer. Some scholars say that this Hadith refers to 3 consecutive Fridays.


HADITH 23:

 

صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي وَإِذَا حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْبَرُكُمْ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Pray as you have seen Me praying. When the time of prayer arrives, let one of you announce the call to prayer for you and then let the oldest of you lead the prayer.’

SUMMARY:        Pray as you see the Prophet praying.


HADITH 22:

 

لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فَيُحْسِنُ الْوُضُوءَ فَيُصَلِّي صَلَاةً إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘A Muslim man does not perform ablution in an excellent manner and then performs prayer, but that Allah will forgive him for what occurred between his prayer and the next.’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala forgives what one did between prayers.


HADITH 21:

 

اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ، وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ، وَإِذَا بَزَقَ فَلاَ يَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلاَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ ‏‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Do the prostration properly and do not put your forearms flat with elbows touching the ground like a dog. And if you want to spit, do not spit in front, nor to the right for the person in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord.’

SUMMARY:        A person in Salaah is speaking in private to his Lord, Allah Ta’aala.


HADITH 20:

 

لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ الصَّلَوَاتُ خَمْسِينَ ثُمَّ نُقِصَتْ حَتَّى جُعِلَتْ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ نُودِيَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّهُ لَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَإِنَّ لَكَ بِهَذِهِ الْخَمْسِ خَمْسِينَ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Fifty prayers were obligated upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon Him, when He was taken on his night journey. Then, it was reduced until it was set at five and an announcement was made, “O Muhammad (), My word is never changed, so these five prayers will be counted as fifty.”

HADITH 19:

 

أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهَرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ، يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسًا، مَا تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالُوا لاَ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْئًا‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ فَذَلِكَ مِثْلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ، يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهَا الْخَطَايَا ‏

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said/ asked:

 

‘If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?’ They said, ‘Not a trace of dirt would be left’. The Prophet () added, ‘That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds.’

HADITH 18:

 

إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When one of you enters the Masjid, let him pray two cycles (rak’ats) before he sits down.’

SUMMARY:        After entering the Masjid, greet it with tahiyyatul Masjid prayer.


HADITH 17:

 

لَيْسَ صَلَاةٌ أَثْقَلَ عَلَى الْمُنَافِقِينَ مِنْ الْفَجْرِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهِمَا لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘No prayer is more burdensome to the hypocrites than dawn and evening prayer. If they knew the blessing in them, they would come even if they had to crawl.’

SUMMARY:        We would crawl to prayer if we knew.


HADITH 16:

 

صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الْجَمَاعَةِ تُضَعَّفُ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَفِي سُوقِهِ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ ضِعْفًا وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةُ لَمْ يَخْطُ خَطْوَةً إِلَّا رُفِعَتْ لَهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةٌ وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةٌ فَإِذَا صَلَّى لَمْ تَزَلْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ مَا دَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ وَلَا يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرَ الصَّلَاةَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The prayer of a man in congregation is twenty five times better than prayer in his home or shop. When he performs ablution in a good manner and leaves to the Masjid only to perform prayer, then his every step will raise him a degree and expiate a sin until he enters the Masjid. When he is performing prayer, the angels send blessings upon him for as long as he remains in his place of prayer. They say: ‘O Allah, bless him and have mercy upon him.’ One of you continues to be in prayer as long as he is waiting for prayer.’

HADITH 15:

 

إِنَّ بَيْنَ الرَّجُلِ وَبَيْنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالْكُفْرِ تَرْكَ الصَّلَاةِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, between a man and idolatry and unbelief is abandoning the prayer.’

SUMMARY:        Between faith and disbelief is leaving prayer.


HADITH 14:

 

لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ عَنْ وَدْعِهِمْ الْجُمُعَاتِ أَوْ لَيَخْتِمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَيَكُونُنَّ مِنْ الْغَافِلِينَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘People need to stop neglecting the Friday prayers, lest Allah place a seal over their hearts and then they become heedless.’

SUMMARY:        Neglecting Friday prayer leads to a hard heart.


HADITH 13:

 

يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكَ مِنْ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ فِي رَأْسِ شَظِيَّةِ الْجَبَلِ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَيُصَلِّي فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْظُرُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي هَذَا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ يَخَافُ مِنِّي قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لِعَبْدِي وَأَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Your Lord delights in a shepherd who announces the call to prayer on the peak of a mountain and he prays. Allah Almighty says: Behold My servant who calls to prayer, performs prayer, and fears Me. I have forgiven My servant and admitted him into Paradise.’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala delights in one who prays and fears Him.


HADITH 12:

 

إِذَا قَرَأَ الإِمَامُ فَأَنْصِتُوا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘When the Imaam recites the Qur’an, then listen silently; i.e. do not repeat.’

SUMMARY:        Listen to the Imaam when he recites the Qur’an and do not repeat.


HADITH 11:

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

HADITH 10:

 

لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي النِّدَاءِ وَالصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لَاسْتَهَمُوا وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِي التَّهْجِيرِ لَاسْتَبَقُوا إِلَيْهِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِي الْعَتَمَةِ وَالصُّبْحِ لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘If people knew the virtues in the call to prayer and the first row of prayer and that they could not get it but by drawing lots, they would surely draw lots. If they knew the virtue in joining prayer at the beginning of its time, they would race to it. If they knew the virtue in prayer at evening and at dawn, they would surely come even if they had to crawl.’

HADITH 9:

 

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ صَلُحَتْ فَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ وَأَنْجَحَ وَإِنْ فَسَدَتْ فَقَدْ خَابَ وَخَسِرَ فَإِنْ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ فَرِيضَتِهِ شَيْءٌ قَالَ الرَّبُّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْظُرُوا هَلْ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَيُكَمَّلَ بِهَا مَا انْتَقَصَ مِنْ الْفَرِيضَةِ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ سَائِرُ عَمَلِهِ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘The first action for which a servant of Allah will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayers. If they are in order, he will have prospered and succeeded. If they are lacking, he will have failed and lost. If there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, then the Almighty Lord will say:

 

‘See if my servant has any voluntary prayers that can complete what is insufficient in his obligatory prayers. The rest of his deeds will be judged the same way.’

SUMMARY:        The FIRST deed to be judged on the day of resurrection will be Salaah.


HADITH 8:

 

إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَفِيقٌ يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ وَيُعْطِي عَلَيْهِ مَا لَا يُعْطِي عَلَى الْعُنْفِ

 

The Blessed Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

‘Verily, Allah is gentle and he loves gentleness. He gives for it what is not given for harshness.’

SUMMARY:        Allah Ta’aala loves gentleness, meaning, kindness to His servants, desire to make things easy for them and not to desire hardship for them.
